Cross words

Today we are working on creating a cross word using http://puzzlemaker.discoveryeducation.com/CrissCrossSetupForm.asp
you need to create a criss cross puzzle of at least 20 words related to the population topic. For the people who are not here - Rebecca you create for Anna, Sarah you create one for Rebecca and Anna you have to create one for Sarah.
You are able to use all the words I put on the board or try creating your own.
I really like this activity because you have to learn the words and ensure you know the meaning and then you get to practice again when you do one created by someone else.
Another way of doing this creating flass cards - eg

Fertility Rates

Millionaire City

Accessibility

The number of babies born per woman. The higher this is, the more likely the population is in stages 2 or 3 of the DTM

In New Zealand there is only one – Auckland with 1.4 million

This is an IGI  and in population accessibility to the coast, transport and services are important.

You can use these for other people to test you and for all you verbal learners you can get parents invovled!!
think of maybe 20 key words or things you need to know and create your cards. If it helps - draw on them, colour them and use differnet fonts. For those of you who prefer to do this by hand - use speech cards to make them
